Big goodbyes, big hellos

Every so often I remember I have a blog!  (wheee!)

I did awesomely fail to complete NaNoWriMo 2014!  I was caught up in the moment and hadn’t really done enough research and background for the idea I had.  I hung up my gloves after the first 12-15K words.  (sigh)   As usual, I come out of November with more plans to write things I may never get to.

I think that is why Camp NaNoWriMo is so helpful.  This year I will be joining some literary friends in some literary hijinks.  I am setting a modest work count of 10,000 words and hoping with all the frayed ideas I have in my poor noggin, I can beat that AND work on some ideas I have had rattling around the old coffee can for a while.

Hang onto your spurs pard’ner!

Long Train Running

Without Love, I guess I would be here now, now, now.

Welcome again wrench-twisters to another Diesel-topia of a blog post. Everywhere I go, all I hear from the writing magazines is 'journal.' Mostly I try not to sprain an optic nerve whilst rolling my eye in a disdainful manner.

So, you greasy gears get to suffer/endure my ranting and raving as a sad form of therapy and catharsis. : P

I am pleased and/or proud to inform you all that I am sort of competing in NaNoWriMo 2014. Sort of, in that I already have 3 50,000 word drafts that need my attention in the upcoming years. 2013 was my Drow Sheriff story that needs totally rewritten. 2012 was my series of Dieselpunk short stories set in Tecumseh. My October 31 desire was to begin editing these…immediately! Sigh. 2011 was my Sky Pirates, which I think was one of my best world building ideas but maybe not the best story.  I hope someday I am not begging and pleading with you to read it.  2010 was my first attempt at NaNo and was my Jack Brass steampunk story.  Sad.  Just don’t mention it again.

And so here we are.  Questions?

Dieselpunk City name running through my head

So no big revelation, except that Mr. Sleepy Dreamtime has barfed out some muy brilliante pieces of awesome. For the unenlightened, Mr. Sleepy Dreamtime is what I call the bits of writing brilliance I get from my post-nocturnal dream interpretation and remembrances. Scary, huh?
(The list is too long for me to go on here, but let me say, MSD helped me finish NaNo 2010, even if it was with drivel!)

So, I dreamed the name for the blog. Sort of a mashup of Demigods and Gothic. It sort of sounds like a font, and thanks for making me think of that Gerald!

The next was the city name I plan on using for my Dieselpunk experiment for the near future. More about this soon, but I wanted a biggish city with a small city feel. Like the city I live in. Hence the name, Tecumseh. (Its so cool, I smile every time I think of it!) I'm such a geek.

Welcome, everyone and no one!

The great spaces of the Internet be filled with randomness! Experiamus!

So I am wondering if it is such a good idea to blog about my un-named steam punk world, considering I have written one novella, one short story, & not been published.
